Press Release June ‘16 The Link App is proud to announce that Sir Nigel Knowles has joined their advisory board, after stepping down as the Global Co-Chairman of DLA Piper. This role enables him to impart invaluable insight and experience to the law-tech startup.

A dedicated communications application for law firms and their clients, The Link App is the brainchild of former BBC The Apprentice star Lauren Riley. A qualified solicitor herself, she witnessed first-hand that changes were needed in the legal industry, with customer service at the heart of it. According to Riley, “The long term goal is about revolutionising outdated client communication for the UK’s 12,000 or so law firms”. The advisory board is made up of various industry experts – who are able to provide an enviable understanding of both the legal sector and the startup scene. The involvement of Sir Nigel Knowles means The Link App is showing its intent to become the driving force in legal innovation. In reference to the way law firms adopt technology, Knowles stated:

“At a time when smart working is essential, an effective method of communication can be a critical source of competitive advantage. The Link App is that critical source.”

Other notable members of the advisory board include Ruth Daniels and Adam Goodall. Amassing over 20 years of experience in law and technology, Daniels has advised a large number of growth businesses and is an advocate of improved innovation and efficiencies within the legal industry. In addition, Goodall possesses a wealth of hands-on experience and practical know-how in the start-up sector – already enjoying success in his previous ventures. He also helps mentor multiple new businesses; providing strategy and product advice. The team has now moved into their new office in the heart of tech-centric Old Street in London  – and is looking to grow significantly over the next few months; having already expanded the team in marketing and technology. The app itself is live after completing its beta test, and has already built up a solid foundation of users. With positive noises from both press and from customers, many comments reflect on how tech can be crucial in improving the way law firms interact with their clients. App user Tony Crocker, the Managing Partner of IWC Estate Planning & Management Ltd, said:

“The Link App has been a great selling point with our customers who recognise the potential to save time, costs and inconvenience.”

Discussions about the next round of funding are already underway – with fast growth on the horizon for The Link App.
