PRESS RELEASE: Manchester-based legal tech firm, The Link App, has been shortlisted to the final five in KPMG’s search for the Best British mobile start-up. Each year the professional services firm hosts a competition to find Britain’s Best Mobile Start-up, with the top five selected companies invited to the world’s largest annual mobile industry gathering in Barcelona, where the winner will be announced. The competition was open to start-ups from across the UK, and successful applicants were invited to pitch their business to a panel of industry experts. Lauren Riley, founder and CEO of The Link App, commented, “We’re honoured to have made it to the final five in KPMG’s best British mobile start-up competition. I am enormously proud of, and passionate about, The Link App; the feedback we’ve received from firms and their clients has been a positive motivator for us and this achievement reinforces my view that we are revolutionising the way legal firms are interacting with their clients. We’re looking forward to heading to Barcelona to take our business to the global stage The Link App has been specifically designed to help legal and professional firms improve client communication while gaining a competitive advantage, and improving security and efficiency. Currently, legal firms are likely to post or email forms to its clients to be printed and completed by hand. By using The Link App, clients can complete forms on their smartphone or web portal, securely and return them paperless and instantly. The Link App along with four other firms will now travel to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next month for the grand finale. The Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest annual mobile industry gathering, organised by the GSMA. Last year the event attracted over 100,000 attendees from all parts of the world, as well as industry analysts and business leaders. On average, the event in Barcelona is attended more than 700 investors, all of whom are searching for the next unicorn to get involved with. More than 600 new start-ups exhibit at MWC, and plenty more attend as visitors. Patrick Imbach, Head of KPMG’s Tech Growth practice, concluded: “Our Britain’s Best Mobile Start-up competition is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best that the UK has on offer in terms of mobile start-ups and could be a door opener or even game-changer for the winner. The competition offers early and growth-stage businesses the opportunity to pitch in front of major industry players looking for the next potential start-up to invest in, buy from, or form an alliance with. The grand finale in Barcelona is an opportunity for five companies to get in front of the key players in the mobile industry, which could be invaluable to their growth ambitions and will open doors that can be difficult for a small enterprise to achieve on their own.” The Link App’s recognition by KMPG is just one of three recognitions received by the company already this year. The company has also been shortlisted for an award at this year’s The Modern Law firm awards for its support of the legal industry and founder, and CEO Lauren Riley has recently accepted a place on a prestigious Silicon Valley accelerator programme which begins in the Spring of 2018. The 12-month programme brings together some of the leading tech firms and entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley to provide mentorship to CEO’s of innovative start-ups from around the world.
